Kwik Fit Car Cancelled Car Insurance Policies
Published: 13/06/08
Approximately eight hundred drivers with Kwik Fit insurance found themselves with just ten days to find alternative cover recently as the company advised them their policies would not run any longer even though many had several months cover left.
The basic issue that caused the cancellations is that each of these drivers had access to another car in the family home, and because that question was not asked at the time the cost of the policy was wrong. Kwik Fit Insurance, who were offering the policies on behalf of Provident, should have asked about this to avoid facing potentially increased liability if a younger or higher risk driver was using the car.
There is no blame attached to any of the drivers who have had their policies cancelled, but there is a lesson for all concerned here – to ensure accuracy all the way across the board.
